Sheltering-in-place during COVID-19 has been impacting all of us. We are spending more time at home, meeting on Zoom, streaming workouts, learning to make sourdough bread, and re-evaluating our quality of life.
The pandemic certainly has affected the current real estate market. Buyer demand remains primarily concerned with price, several bedrooms and baths, renovated kitchens, large yards, and garages. Although top home features have not changed during the pandemic, Life with COVID has brought forward other important home-buying trends.
Buyers are now looking for a home where they can live and work under the same roof. This includes flexible space for a home office, home gym, walk-in pantry, laundry room, and more storage space. The outdoor areas are also a coveted component, complete with a pool, outdoor kitchen, and play areas.
Multigenerational family living has also driven the demand for larger homes. Buyers may need more rooms to accommodate elder adult relatives moving in, extended family visits, and college student remote instruction.
As a Realtor, I assist buyers by making recommendations that accommodate price range and lifestyle. I’m also a great resource to sellers by making suggestions on boosting a home’s appeal to obtain the highest and best price possible. Let me know how I may help you!
