Road crews are working on two projects to improve traffic flow and congestion in downtown Sarasota. A new bus-bike lane on the John Ringling Causeway Bridge and the completion of a roundabout at U.S. 41 and Gulfstream Avenue.
Bus-Bike Lanes. The Ringling Bridge work will pave the way for a Shared Bus-Bike Shoulder, ultimately becoming a bus lane and bike lane by summer 2024. The bridge express bus lane will allow the popular Bay Runner to expedite riders faster over beautiful Sarasota Bay for their passengers to dine, shop or relax in our beautiful city. The bus lane shoulder project anticipates completion in August.
Roundabout. The new roundabout gets closer to completion as the Summer of 2022 rolls along. Once completed, the lengthy $8.6 million project will make entering and exiting Gulfstream easier for motorists and safer for pedestrians to cross Route 41. The anticipated completion date is September/October. Read More
